In early 2004, Apple introduced a new version of its consumer iApps suite called “iLife ’04.” The theme of the Apple retail marketing behind it was “iLife is a part of your life is a part of every Mac.”
Taking this initial theme, I extended it by creating this video that shows how iLife can become a running narrative throughout all aspects of your life. You might be taking digital photographs of your son at this moment, but minutes later you will be organizing those shots in iPhoto. You might be creating the next smash hit in your bedroom using GarageBand. You’re going to work on the train and used iTunes to create your morning commute playlist that you’re listening to on your iPod. You are videotaping your wife’s birthday showing your daughters presenting a cake that they had made and editing that down in iMovie. You just taped a great shot of your 2 year-old running throught the sprinklers that you have to share with her grandparents so you use iDVD to burn them a copy.
By juxtaposing real life moments graphically with the interface of each iApp, this video shows how iLife really is a part of your everyday life.
